For our field office located in Anderlecht (see the map here) we’re looking for a Automation Specialist (M/F/x).
Fluxys Belgium, as being a leading national gas pipeline operator, manages a country-wide telemetry system. This system is comprised of hundreds of control and measuring devices coupled to a state of the art ICT network. The system provides vital information for monitoring and controlling our pipeline network. It’s the ‘nervous’ system linking our central dispatching with the local, industrial, control equipment.

**purpose**:
As automation specialist, you will support the operations and development of regulation and telemetry systems used in our gas transmission system. You will assist/coordinate central support towards our field technicians and execute commissioning activities on telemetry and automation equipment in new gas installations. You will lead or take part in innovation and renewal projects in domains like automation, telemetry and IoT.

**Your**
**responsibilities**:
- Together with the team you keep the telemetry system in optimal health
- You actively follow up all used technology and help organize the maintenance activities involved
- You support the configuration of all active equipment and follow up changes to the system as a result of changes to the underlying pipeline network
- You pro-actively monitor the state of the system, help optimizing the correct functioning of the system and, if needed, respond to outages of the system
- You are responsible of keeping the documentation of the system up to date
- Together with our engineering department you will be active in the commissioning phase of new gas installations where telemetry and/or automation is needed
- You will join the guard team, responsible for managing incidents outside business hours
- You will be asked to participate in innovation initiatives like IoT or projects which aim at renewing the way we do telemetry

To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor degree in ICT, Automation or Electromechanical or at least 5 years of experience in a similar function
- Experience in maintenance of technical installations within a process environment
- In depth knowledge of:
- Automation principles
- Communication protocols used in process automation environments
- Programming and/or configuration of process control equipment
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley equipment and/or Rockwell software products
- Previous experience on a production site with the maintenance of ICT infrastructure supporting ICS (Industrial Control Systems)
- To be a real team player who shares information in a spontaneous way
- A problem solving mindset
- To take ownership of delivering on tasks assigned to you
- A positive mindset
- to be proficient in Dutch, French and English
Additionally, this role requires:
- To be part of the guard role
- Being in possession of a driver’s license
