**Job description**:
With more than 100 years of passion for trademarks and patents, this Intellectual Property firm has continuously innovated in client service design and delivery. They are considered a European powerhouse in the IP sector, with offices across Europe.

The Role:
You will work closely with your attorney(s) and with other assistants/secretaries in a dynamic environment to take care of the administration of general activities including, but not limited to Patents and any other IP related files handled by your attorney(s). You provide support to attorneys and other departments in preparing, creating and maintaining documents that are relevant to perform those activities.

This reports in to the Life Sciences division - lots of work and a busy department.

Responsibilities include:

- Handling of incoming and outgoing mail related to your attorneys’ files
- Handling of agenda for your attorney’s files, creating and docketing files
- Managing correspondence with agents and authorities regarding those procedures.
- Working according to deadlines and internal service level agreements for all services.
- Checking and verifying databases and official documents to ascertain the accuracy of information.
- Prepare and generate translations and reports.
- Invoicing on a regular base, according to internal guidelines and timelines.
- Take active part in company projects.
- Building meaningful business relationships with clients, attorneys, authorities, agents and (other) internal departments.

Core competencies

Education Level - Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Administrative Orientation / Office Management / Languages or equivalent by experience.

The need is for someone with 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar patent or intellectual property role. You could be qualified as a paralegal, but this is not a necessity and this would / could be offered in the future by the firm.
- Being knowledgeable of the various terminologies, principles and methods that may be used in assisting the attorneys with respect to all IP related matters and updates
- Demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.
- Demonstrating team spirit.
- Being well organized, pro-active and efficient.
- Being client oriented and flexible.
- Being eager to learn and take part in innovation.
- Being knowledgeable of the various terminologies, principles and methods that may be used in assisting the attorneys with respect to all IP related matters and updates
- It Skills - Using IT programs including MS Office, data management systems and tools.

Languages: You must be able to speak and communicate effectively in English (including written English) and Dutch (working with the Dutch team). Knowledge of French would be a bonus.
