Finance Reporting Officer

Brussels | Full time

MS Amlin Insurance SE (AISE), a subsidiary of the international MS&AD insurance group, specializes in providing a wide variety of Property & Casualty and Marine insurance products in Europe tailored to meet customers specific needs, today and tomorrow. The company concentrates its activities in Europe and operates successful insurance businesses from offices in Belgium, Netherlands, France and United Kingdom. Our gross revenue per December 2022 is circa €980m and targets an income of exceeding 1bn.

For the Finance department, we are looking for a Financial Reporting Officer in our office in Brussels. The primary purpose of the role is to be a strong contributor to the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process which includes management reporting (IFRS) and reporting to the regulator (National Bank of Belgium), in line with BEGAAP and Solvency II standards. At the same time, compliance with the Internal Control Framework, including J-SOX, has to be ensured.

This position provides a great opportunity for those with accounting experience, who are eager to expand their knowledge in financial reporting and develop their analytical and controlling capabilities. The role holder will be part of the financial reporting, analysis and planning team and will report directly into the Financial Regulatory Reporting manager.

The key people, functions and organisations (internal and external) with whom the job holder interacts include CFO, Finance Management Team, Actuarial and Underwriting teams.

Your function - key responsibilities
- Preparation and oversight of reporting instructions and associated timelines.
- Operating effective financial processes and audit controls for the entity and its European branches within the deadlines.
- Producing and analysing Management Reporting to Country Management, Executive Committee, Audit/Risk Committee and Board, both on reporting segments and consolidated level.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual regulatory reporting (Solvency II).
- Identify changes in financial reporting requirements impacting MS AISE and contribute to solutions going forward in various reporting projects.
- Manage outputs and ensuring subsequent quality assurance over accuracy of financial results and reporting.

Your profile - qualifications, skills and experience
- You have a bachelor or master degree in Finance, Economics or Business administration ;
- You have a first working experience in an accounting role, audit or an international company involving controlling or reporting activities. Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
- You have a first technical accounting knowledge of IFRS principles and interested to learn more about relevant regulatory requirements (for example Solvency II).
- You have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- You are fluent in English, with good knowledge of Dutch and/or French.
- You are a strong team player with good communication skills (collaboration with other teams across the Brussels, Amstelveen and Paris offices is directly linked to the role).
- You are willing to travel to other offices on occasion to team up with colleagues.
