Samen met een groot team van ambitieuze ingenieurs en onderzoekers wil het SCK CEN met het MYRRHA-project nieuwe medische radio-isotopen ontwikkelen om kankerpatiënten te behandelen en het kernafvalprobleem oplossen. De eerste fase van het MYRRHA-project (start ingebruikname gepland in 2027) bestaat uit een protonversneller met een unieke betrouwbaarheid en twee targetfaciliteiten waarmee onderzoek kan worden gedaan naar radio-isotopen, radioactieve ionenbundelfysica en materialen voor kernfusiereactoren. In de volgende fasen wordt de versneller uitgebreid om een subkritische reactor aan te drijven die het concept van transmutatie van kernafval moet bewijzen (de ingebruikname is gepland voor 2040). Om ons te helpen onze ambitieuze doelen te bereiken, zijn we op zoek naar een Software Lead voor het Supervisory Control System.
- Als Software Lead voor het Supervisory Control System fungeer je als Product Owner om de backlog vast te stellen op basis van de behoeften van belanghebbenden voor componenten van de softwarematige besturing van de versneller en proton target faciliteiten. In deze functie volg je ook de ontwerp-, implementatie-, test
- en opleveringsactiviteiten op die worden uitgevoerd door een Scrum-team bij een externe partner. Hiervoor rapporteer je aan de ICS-groepsleider van MINERVA en werk je nauw samen met andere expertgroepen. Hoewel hands-on activiteiten zoals programmeren slechts een klein deel uitmaken van de activiteiten, is kennis opgedaan tijdens software programmeeractiviteiten essentieel voor het uitvoeren van de functie voor het project
- een off-site Scrum-team van ongeveer 5 ontwikkelaars leiden, ondersteunen en technisch opvolgen
- ondersteuning van en samenwerking met deskundigengroepen over de behoeften aan besturingssoftware voor versnellers en doelfaciliteiten
- deelnemen aan het ontwerp van kritieke kernsoftwaresystemen en -concepten
- optreden als Product Owner voor de ontwikkeling van besturingssystemen, voornamelijk in C++ en Python op Linux
- integratie
- en inbedrijfstellingstestopstellingen opzetten met deskundigengroepen

**Wat onze pioniers zeker nodig hebben**:

- een masterdiploma of hoger in Software Engineering. Besturingssysteem, elektronica of gelijkwaardig
- 5+ jaar werkervaring in de ontwikkeling van software in C++ en Python op GNU/Linux
- goede kennis van objectgeoriënteerd programmeren en softwarepatronen
- goede people management en interpersoonlijke vaardigheden
- mondelinge en schriftelijke kennis van het Engels met de vaardigheid om technische teksten op te stellen en te beoordelen
- ervaring in een project voor een versnellerbesturingssysteem met Qt en EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) is een pluspunt.
