Companies are improving the security and management of their company data. Driven by the GDPR compliance requirement, daily news related to data breaches and the move from a closed on-premise IT system to the cloud.

Microsoft 365 has a lot of features that can assist our cloud customers in improving their information protection and governance. For example: Microsoft DLP, Azure Information Protection, Microsoft cloud app security, retention labels, Customer lockbox, Secure and compliance score.

The objective of this internship is deploying a demo setup on Azure and the Microsoft 365 platform populated with fictitious data. This tenant will be similar to the setup of some of our customers in the banking industry. All possible features related to data protection and data governance should be implemented on this demo system. A couple of use-cases will be defined (e.g. a data leakage). These use-cases will then be tested on the demo tenant against different hypothetical threats which should activate different actions or controls (e.g; data leakage is prevented and reported to the SoC). Various real-world use cases will be defined and tested on this tenant.

**At the end of your internship, you should have**:

- Configured a demo tenant from scratch with all the mentioned features related to data protection and governance
- The features should be configured so they are fully functional and protect the data on the tenant
- The use-cases should be defined, tested on the tenant and explained why they were prevented
- A demo should be prepared to be shown to our clients (Screen recording from an end-user point of view and slide deck)
- Deliver a deeper presentation about the service, how it can be used, how it should be configured according to the best practices etc. The internship will take place at Avanade’s offices with the possibility of remote work and will be guided by one of our colleagues
