For our Zeebrugge LNG terminal (see the map here) we’re looking for a Field Operator (M/F/x).

The Zeebrugge LNG terminal is Northwest Europe’s gateway for supplies of LNG (liquefied natural gas). LNG unloaded at the terminal can be redelivered for consumption on the Belgian market, trading on the Zeebrugge Hub or transportation to other end-user markets in any direction: France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Southern Europe and the UK.

**Job**
**purpose**:
As a Field Operator you contribute to the smooth and safe management of our Zeebrugge LNG terminal. You guarantee the safety on site, a SEVESO plant of 42 hectares, and are responsible for secure loading operations of LNG trucks with a permanent eye for quality. You manage this process in close cooperation with your colleagues in the control room.

**Your**
**responsibilities**:

- Under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor or Panel Operator, you will be tasked with:

- starting and stopping machines such as pumps and compressors in line with the send-out programme and the loading and unloading of ships, among other things
- actively helping to secure equipment according to the instructions and procedures in place
- monitoring the facilities (and conducting inspections and safety checks to this end) and reporting to the Shift Supervisor or Panel Operator in this connection
- helping load LNG trucks
- You will join the safety intervention team of the facility
- You will think of ways to optimise and improve operational processes and will pass on your suggestions to the Shift Supervisor
- You will also perform minor control, inspection and maintenance activities

To succeed in this role, you will need:

- A high school degree in **(electro)mechanics and/or electrical science** or equivalent experience
- Preferably, professional experience in a process or energy environment
- The discipline to adhere procedures in place
- The** critical sense** to question and improve the way things are done
- The **stress resistance** to keep calm in a crisis and to make decisions quickly and autonomously
- A strong sense of **team spirit** and **responsibility**:

- **Eagerness to learn** and motivation to develop yourself
- Fluency in Dutch and some knowledge of English and French

Additionally, this role requires:

- Willingness to be part of a **shift system** (early/late shift) from Monday to Friday, with the eventual possibility of a full-continuous shift system in the long term
- A category B driving licence and personal vehicle
