We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Construction Team based in Antwerp.

**Your Team**

Allianz Commercial has a long-standing tradition of supporting the energy & construction industry. Our team has many years of practical experience of leading the largest engineering risks and construction projects across the globe, covering a wide range of engineering classes, including oil and gas, power and utilities, heavy industries, transportation systems and heavy civil engineering projects.

**The Impact You Will Have**

Based in Antwerp, you will be in charge of underwriting profitable new and renewal business across the Construction product lines in Belgium. With strong ties to the European Head of Construction but also with the colleagues of the European region, you will support the global strategy to ensure the successful achievement of Allianz Commercial targets. Together with the Operations team you will implement national and international solutions for our customers.

**Some of your specific responsibilities could include**:

- Underwrite in line with Construction governance framework
- Drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations
- Manage referrals from underwriters and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate
- Contribute to the development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for Construction
- Create and maintain positive relationships with key producers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)

**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
- You have a degree in Engineering
- Significant experience as an Underwriter, Broker or relevant equivalent in the Construction sector
- Ideally you are CII qualified or equivalent or working towards it
- You have experience underwriting profitable business in the Construction segment of large corporate international insurance
- You have recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are well established within the market
- You have a specialised understanding of regional / local Construction insurance markets and competitor landscape
- Experience in project management or leading teams
- Capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective
- You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework
- You can design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.
