**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
**Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 4 years post-related experience
- Demonstrable experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role, or experience performing these functions roles as part of another job
- Demonstrable experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, R, or C#
- Experience with commercially available or open-source data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Grafana or R Shiny
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, such as SQL Server
- Experience with user experience KPIs and reporting
- Experience managing small teams
**Desirable Qualifications/Experience**:
- Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
- Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT
- Training & Certifications: ITIL Foundation, DevOps Foundation and certifications proving the competency level in programming/software development skills
**DUTIES/ROLE**:
- Data management
ü Devises and implements master data management processes
ü Derives data management structures and metadata to support consistency of information retrieval, combination, analysis, pattern recognition and interpretation, throughout the organisation
ü Plans effective data storage, sharing and publishing within the organisation
ü Independently validates external information from multiple sources

ü Provides expert advice and guidance to enable the organisation to get maximum value from its data assets
- Programming/software development
ü Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors complex programs/scripts and integration software services
ü Contributes to the selection of the software development methods, tools and techniques
ü Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes
- Data modelling and design
ü Manages the investigation of enterprise data requirements based upon a detailed understanding of information requirements
ü Manages the iteration, review and maintenance of data requirements and data models
- Data engineering
ü Plans and drives the development of data engineering solutions ensuring that solutions balance functional and non-functional requirements.
ü Contributes to organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for data engineering.
- Data science
ü Plans and drives all stages of the development of data science and analytics solutions
ü Provides expert advice to evaluate the problems to be solved and the need for data science solutions
ü Identifies what data sources to use or acquire
ü Specifies and applies appropriate data science techniques and specialised programming languages.
ü Reviews the benefits and value of data science techniques and tools and recommends improvements

ü Leads exploration of new approaches for data visualisation
ü Establishes the purpose and parameters of the data visualisation
ü Provides overall control to ensure the appropriate use of data visualisation tools and techniques
ü Formats and communicates results using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualisation methods appropriate to the target audience
ü Advises on the appropriate use of data visualisation for different purposes and contexts to satisfy requirements
ü Develops plans showing how the identified user needs will be met
- User experience evaluation
ü Selects appropriate tools and techniques to evaluate user experiences of systems, products, services or devices
