Research & development - Gent | Just now- Join imec as a senior AI researcher to help us make sense of novel data across a number of exciting hardware projects by developing advanced methods for noise reduction, feature extraction, classification and interpretation.- What you will doWhile the unique hardware emerging from the imec deep-tech will generate large amounts of highly valuable data, the scale, resolution or frequency at which it must operate often results in noisy signals and data, which imec is looking to interpret into valuable health insights.
We are looking for a senior AI researcher to help us make sense of this novel data across a number of exciting hardware projects by developing advanced methods for noise characterization (Fourier analysis, PSD analysis), noise reduction (filtering algorithms, wavelets), feature extraction, classification and interpretation. You will join a capable team of data scientists, software engineers and life sciences engineers.
- You will be responsible for data science and AI aspects in research projects in the context of life sciences and health in strategic and novel hardware roadmaps.
- You will follow up on progress within research projects and will communicate the accomplished / in-process work to internal and external stakeholders and adapt where needed.
- You will work together with technical teams to implement the data science and AI output of your projects into a working whole.

Who you are- You have a PhD, preferably in Computer Science, Bio-informatics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
You have an affinity with academic research but also want to make a difference in today’s industrial and societal challenges.
You have a strong, hands-on background in Datascience and AI.
Prior experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, transfer learning, and neural networks are a plus.
Experience with digital signal processing, time series analysis, noise characterization and reduction/filtering techniques is helpful.
Knowledge of circuit theory and electronics is a plus.
-Knowledge of process control for biochemical, chemical or pharmaceutical engineering is an advantage, particularly in the context of AI-driven optimization.
-You are a team player and have strong communication skills.
-Your English is fluent, both speaking and writing.
