**Jouw functie**:
Als Research Manager heb je impact op de brede onderzoeksstrategie binnen het Biomedisch Onderzoeksinstituut (**BIOMED**) en het Limburg Clinical Research Center (**LCRC**). Je hebt een belangrijke rol bij het opzetten van en rapporteren over projecten inzake fundamenteel en
strategisch basisonderzoek.
- Je helpt onderzoekers bij het uitschrijven en indienen van grote onderzoeksaanvragen (bv. HEurope, ERC, MEDVIA,) en ondersteunt hen m.b.t. het verzamelen van administratieve en wettelijke documenten (bv. ethische goedkeuring, GDPR checklist, data management plan,). Je coördineert budgetonderhandelingen conform de regelgeving van de financierder en verzamelt en coördineert inhoudelijke input verkregen via onderzoekers.
- Je identificeert financieringskanalen voor het biomedische en klinische onderzoeksveld.
- Je bent de liaison tussen de centrale directie Onderzoek, Bibliotheek en Internationalisering (OBI), en BIOMED/LCRC en werkt nauw samen met de IOF-managers.
- Je ondersteunt onderzoekers bij de voorbereiding van panelgesprekken voor het verwerven van onderzoeksfinanciering.
- Je identificeert nieuwe onderzoeksopportuniteiten en je scout baanbrekende onderzoeksprofielen en potentiële academische onderzoekspartners met aanvullende expertise, geënt op het onderzoeksbeleid van BIOMED en LCRC.
- Je coördineert en aggregeert onderzoeksinformatie i.k.v. rapportering (input inhoudelijke verslagen, R&I data, financiële data,), benchmarking (KPI’s) en strategieplannen.
- Je coördineert de communicatie/ontwikkelt communicatiestrategieën om het UHasselt-onderzoek op de voorgrond te plaatsen (bv. via website, social media, nieuwsbrief,) en volgt hierbij het UHasselt communicatiebeleid op.

De faculteit Geneeskunde en Levenswetenschappen draagt bij aan duurzame oplossingen voor gezondheidsgerelateerde vraagstukken in de civic Universiteit Hasselt. Als Research Manager maak je deel uit van een gedreven team van (internationale) onderzoekers in BIOMED en LCRC. Het wetenschappelijk onderzoek van BIOMED-UHasselt is gericht op het beter begrijpen van ziekteprocessen van (auto)immune, neurologische en cardiometabole ziektebeelden.
In deze domeinen wordt basis en translationeel onderzoek uitgevoerd, dat uiteindelijk de patiënt ten goede komt via preventie, diagnostiek en (gepersonaliseerde) therapie. Het LCRC is het academisch wetenschappelijk onderzoekscentrum van UHasselt, Jessa Ziekenhuis en Ziekenhuis
Oost-Limburg, dat patiëntgericht klinisch-wetenschappelijk onderzoek uitvoert in diverse domeinen waaronder cardiologie, oncologie en digitale geneeskunde. Klik en ontdek meer over baanbrekend onderzoek bij BIOMED en LCRC.

**Jouw talenten**:

- Je hebt een doctoraat in de levenswetenschappen (biomedische wetenschappen, bio-ingenieur, biologie,...) of een masterdiploma aangevuld met minstens 5 jaar onderzoekservaring in de betrokken discipline (of gelijkwaardig).
- Je voelt je comfortabel in de rol van projectmanager.
- Je ziet het als een uitdaging om onderzoeksstrategieën mee te bepalen om het onderzoek verder uit te bouwen op topniveau.
- Je krijgt energie van het proactief op zoek gaan naar nieuwe mogelijkheden. We denken hierbij aan nieuwe partnerships met onderzoeksinstellingen wereldwijd, het aantrekken van alternatieve mogelijkheden voor onderzoeksfinanciering, het zoeken van mogelijkheden om toegang tot interessante onderzoeksinfrastructuur te verkrijgen, enz.
- Je hebt kennis van verschillende financieringskanalen voor onderzoek (EU, FWO, VLAIO,...) om onderzoekers te adviseren welke financieringskanalen het meest geschikt zijn voor hun projecten.
- Je voelt je comfortabel in de rol van projectmanager.
- Ervaring in het uitbouwen van grote onderzoeksaanvragen (o.a. in Europees kaderprogramma) is een pluspunt.
- Je communiceert vlot in het Engels tijdens vergaderingen in het kader van onderzoeksprojecten of in schriftelijke communicatie met projectpartners.
- Je bent de persoon om tijdens vergaderingen diverse standpunten naar 1 gezamenlijk gedragen mening te brengen. Je legt hiervoor de nodige luisterbereidheid, sociale vaardigheden en diplomatie aan de dag.
- Je bent flexibel en bereid om ook tijdens deadlines, die externe onderzoeksfinancierders hanteren, net die extra stap te zetten en onderzoekers te ondersteunen.
