**You like to work in an** **environment **where you will**:
- Discover drugs in neurological and immunological indications with the help of computers.
- Work together in multidisciplinary teams consisting of members from Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, DMPK, Safety, Data Sciences and IT
- Develop complex holistic drug discovery workflows/programmatic solutions linking physics-based and data-driven components to increase the efficiency of small molecule drug discovery.
- Act as an ambassador for CADD by providing scientific expertise / leadership at cross-disciplinary meetings and departmental meetings.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking for project delivery, identification and implementation of the next computational technology within UCB in order to stay at the forefront of drug discovery.
**Interested? For this position you’ll need the following **education, experience** **and** skills**:
- A PhD in Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modeling, Bioinformatics, Pharmacy or a related field is required.
- 10+ years of computational chemistry experience, supporting drug discovery projects, computational chemistry method development and project leadership roles.
- Expert knowledge in protein structure-based and ligand-based small molecule drug design such as virtual screening, de novo design, fragment and quantum chemistry approaches. A good publication track record these areas is required.
- Ability to influence and impact beyond immediate area of responsibility.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
