Role Overview
The Industrial Function is a transversal function of the Solvay Group. Our mission is to support the GBUs in their industrial activities. We help them to design, to build and to operate their plants in an efficient and secure mode. We support them in the research of Excellence, in the management of the Industrial Family and take care of their environmental legacies.
**Job Overview**:
Reporting into the Global HSE Director he/she will be a member of the Group HSE leadership team.
This position is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of Group HSE policies and procedures, having specific expertise/competency, and working collaboratively with his/her counterparts in other regions of the world in the following HSE domains: Occupational Safety (OS), Occupational Health (OH), Industrial Hygiene (IH), Process Safety, Transport Safety, and Environmental. In addition, this individual will sponsor one of the global HSE networks while improving HSE competencies and culture throughout the EMEA region.
**Responsibilities**:
- Support a collaborative (zones and GBU) approach to HSE in the Group
- Develop members of his/her team - ability to manage teams remotely
- Support the development of the HSE family in EMEA, including collaboration with Product Safety and SEC teams
- Lead the EMEA HSE team covering OS, IH, OH, Env, Process & Transport Safety
- Support EMEA sites with regulatory compliance, group HSE procedures, and HSE performance issues, including the management of the zone Solvay requirements compliance auditing program
- Participate (actively) in the global HSE leadership team
- Support the deployment of large (> 7 M€) CAPEX projects in EMEA through HSE reviews and execution of PHA’s
- Represent Solvay with external organization(s) - e.g. CEFIC
- Sponsor/Animate at least one HSE domain network, globally
- Prepare and follow the HSE budget in EMEA region
- Lead the deployment of Solvay’s HSE Culture initiative, Creating Safety in the EMEA zone.
**Education and Experience**:
- Experienced in team Management, should demonstrate high leadership skills
- Specific Expertise and Competencies in multiple HSE domains including OS, IH, Env, and Process Safety
- Bachelor's Degree required in Engineering, Chemistry, or HSE, Master’s preferred.
- Professional HSE certification desirable
- 15 years of working experience in the Industrial field, preferably with some time spent in both an HSE position and a plant (non-HSE) position.

- Technical competencies
- Practical knowledge and experience in multiple HSE domains
- Basic understanding of the group HSE tools
- Basic understanding of financial principles
- Basic understanding of EMEA HSE regulations
- Plant experience
- Fluent in English both reading and writing
- Frequent business travel to include international travel
