We currently have an opportunity for an experienced **Distribution and Business Development Manager** to join our Life Sciences team in Benelux.

Reporting into the Regional Sales Manager West, you will oversee and drive growth, improvements and efficiencies across our distributor in Benelux and develop our business in the area.

Utilizing your expert knowledge, coupled with your influencing skills, you will seek out opportunities for growth. You will own the distributor relationships and drive areas for development and growth. Together with our technical and global corporate account teams, you’ll introduce best practice methodologies. You are the link between Ecolab Life Sciences diverse functions and its main Distributor.

**What You Will Do**:

- Own the commercial relationships with our main and exclusive distributor, based in the NL, and covering Benelux. Our distributor is selling our Contamination Control portfolio (CC) for pharmaceutical industry and laboratories.
- Build up and maintain regular personal contacts with key stakeholders at our distributor (purchasing, account managers (15-20 salespeople), sales management, operations)
- Contribute to all divisional or cross-functional matters (pricing, marketing, launches, sales promotions, events, and seminars)
- Implement the distribution strategy including planning and controlling in line with European distribution strategy. For this you’re in contact with our EU Distributor Director
- Align and execute the global corporate accounts deals with the final CA we have in Benelux (products portfolio, pricing and rebates)
- Provide an adequate reporting of distribution results and provide information to Life Sciences division managers.
- Report sales activities according to guidelines in our CRM Dynamics, and monitor sales numbers
- You coordinate the sales and demand forecasts with our distributor and our sales support associates.
- Monitor and report markets in own area of responsibility (customer needs, competitors, prices)
- Work closely with our technical team to train the distributor’s sales team.
- Develop the CIP / COP business (different portfolio than CC) in the Benelux, with close collaboration to another colleague who is maintaining this business currently. Those sales are direct sales, not with distributors.
- Sell with a counselor selling approach, you create, communicate, and capture the value delivered to customers. You are selling chemical products and associated services.

**To be successful, you will need**:

- Qualifications in business or sales, with a scientific education / background
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a business related environment, ideally acquired in the pharma industry
- Excellent communication skills, to be able to coordinate actions with customers but also with internal support functions within Ecolab
- To understand the pharma sales cycle and the importance of quality, validation, and regulations in this industry
- Strong computer skills, and digital tools
- To speak Dutch and have an excellent knowledge of English. French is a “plus”
