Biomanufacturing EHS Champion

We are looking for a Biomanufacturing EHS Champion who is proactive, safety-oriented, and an excellent communicator to join our UCB team, based in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium.

About the Role
The Biomanufacturing EHS Champion is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment in the B7 production building. This role includes managing incident tracking and implementing improvements to ensure the well-being of the department. You will also play a critical role in maintaining compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards and collaborating with various teams to continuously improve safety protocols.

Who You Will Work With
You will work closely with the Production, Facilities, Engineering, and EHS departments to ensure the B7 building meets all safety and regulatory requirements. You will also represent the department in EHS meetings and audits and collaborate with other stakeholders to prioritize EHS initiatives.

What You Will Do
- Represent the department as an EHS liaison in various meetings (Audit, Tier, Biosafety, etc.).
- Ensure EHS compliance of the B7 building in collaboration with other departments (Production, Facilities, Engineering).
- Oversee the safety of production activities, maintenance, and projects to ensure they meet EHS standards.
- Define EHS priorities in collaboration with the department teams and the site EHS team.
- Prepare and complete work permits, including fire permits.
- Propose and implement EHS improvements, training, and communication.
- Conduct EHS tours of the building and implement improvement actions.
- Monitor and implement KPIs related to EHS aspects of the B7 building.

Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Prevention advisor certification Level 3 or 2.
- Good knowledge of GMP and ISO 14001 standards.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in French and English.
- Skills in coaching and training.
- Problem-solving mindset and proactive in proposing solutions.
- Team spirit and eagerness to collaborate with various stakeholders.
