For our office in Antwerp or Ghent, we are looking for an experienced tax consultant specialising in indirect taxes. You will join a multidisciplinary team of specialists in indirect taxes, transfer pricing, corporate and personal taxes, etc.

What will you be doing?:
- Advising companies on indirect taxes and, if applicable, on “compliance” issues;
- Supporting both small and medium-sized Belgian companies and multinationals in matters relating to Belgian and European indirect taxes;
- Providing compliance services to our clients in various sectors. These include the preparation of Belgian and European VAT returns and listings, VAT journal entries and the preparation of (statistical) declarations;
- Supporting clients with VAT and customs audits.
- Supporting our Indirect Tax Managers/Partners in coordinating pan-European compliance projects for multinational companies and communicating with the BDO network about our clients’ pan-European tax compliance obligations;
- You are part of our BDO Indirect Tax Community, enabling you to establish strong ties with colleagues across Europe.
What do you bring to the table?:
- University degree, Master of Law or Economics with additional training in taxation, ITAA certified tax consultant or willing to obtain this certification;
- Min. 4 years of professional experience and a thorough knowledge of VAT legislation, as well as good general tax knowledge;
- You are interested in VAT and other indirect taxes such as “turnover tax” and customs duties;
- You have a good working knowledge of MS Office and some familiarity with SAP or other tax reporting solutions;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written, in Dutch, French and English;
- Dynamic, motivated and engaged personality, committed to contributing to the expansion of our VAT department;
- Meticulous, pragmatic, proactive and blessed with a cooperative nature
