Provide on-site health and safety advice and assistance to site supervision and operating staff in performing main duties of a range of mechanical and welding works on static equipment incl. preassembly and repair work to meet customer project requirements in full compliance with applicable HSE standards, within schedule and quality. Nature of the work entails working at heights and in confined spaces in vessels, columns, reactors, boilers etc. in Refineries and Chemical Plants and WTE.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1. Participate in Sulzer HSE trainings such as Induction&Refresher, confined space, working at height and any other training required for particular projects.
2. Participate in Client site safety induction and satisfy site access requirements.
3. Familiarise with RAMS and permit to work system, following all applicable HSE rules including use of PPE as per Site and Sulzer specific requirements.
4. Undertake HSE support and inspections of mechanical/welding works in accordance with Sulzer and client HSE Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Industry practice and instructions from QESH Manager/Supervisor, to include: - Preparation and implementation of HSE Plan in compliance with the Sulzer QMS and client HSE Plan. - Perform Pre-Start Safety Meetings - Perform daily tool box talks in line with site tasks for the day - Ensure PPE is suitable for the task, used correctly and Safety standards are maintained by all personnel - Ensure safety equipment and devices are installed and utilised correctly - Communicate Sulzer and Client specific HSE topics as and when required. - Perform site walks and timely reporting and investigation of any unsafe situations, unsafe acts, near misses or incidents in line with company procedures and support RCA procedures. - Participate in daily safety meetings with client - Issuance and tracking of all HSE documentation and inspection reports as per Sulzer and contract requirements and save in the respective project file in a timely manner. - Provide regular progress reporting to QESH Manager/Site Supervisor as per requirements.
5. Use of standard site Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
6. Ensure the care and protection of company tools and equipment and facilities
7. Demonstrate professional behaviours whilst on assignment for Sulzer.
8. Follow applicable Sulzer Processes and act as a role model for Compliance
9. Positively promote safe working practices in accordance with Sulzer/Client standards
10. Any other duties as directed by QESH Manager/Supervisor and within expected Industry skills.

**Profile**

Qualifications/Experience and knowledge required:

- NEBOSH NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Minimum 3 year’s experience in safe working practices of works in vessels, columns and reactors
- Certified for Working at height and Confined Space Entry including relevant Medical Certification
- Experience with Hot Works
- General computer skills
- Knowledge of Refinery and Chemical Plants practices & standards
- Familiar with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO3834
- Certified to VCA/SCC VOL Level
