**What does this job entail?**:
As you know, mid-sized and large companies regularly request syndicated loans. These are loans for substantial amounts, allocated by different banks that work together. This form of financing is used to finance general company goals or to perform large-scale takeovers or projects. It also makes it possible, for example, to (further) invest in **sustainability **or link financing to a sustainability strategy.

As our Manager for Syndicated Loans, you use your knowledge of corporate banking and company financing and your devotion to meeting customer needs to further expand KBC’s **strong franchise in syndicated loans**. In doing so, you contribute to important projects that co-finance the growth of our corporate clients.

You are joining the **Loan and Debt Markets team**: an enthusiastic group of experts in long-term debt financing, active in the area of syndicated loans as well as the issue of corporate bonds.

This team is a part of the **department for Fixed Income at KBC Securities**, alongside Leveraged Finance, Project Finance and Export Finance. KBC Securities offers corporate clients a total solution; from strategic advice to guidance in mergers and takeovers, as well as financing solutions, from shares to debt financing. We are not only active in Belgium, but also France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany.

**What do we expect from you?**:

- You search for new clients in **Belgium and other countries across Europe.** You acquire **new mandates** for KBC in the framework of syndicated loans, including ‘green’ or ‘sustainability-linked’ loans. In doing so, you help companies to (further) invest in sustainability.
- You **make proposals** to potential business clients and **present market updates.**:

- You and your colleagues from KBC London and/or the KBC Securities/ESG team **coordinate the establishment of new loans and credits,** **including the negotiation and coordination between the various parties involved and the related documentation process.**:

- You build up a **strong network** of clients and legal offices, not only externally, but also internally within KBC Securities and KBC Bank, including the corporate banking offices.

**Your key strengths?**:

- You have a **master’s degree in economy, (engineering) sciences or law **and an outspoken interest in corporate financing.
- You have at least **three years of experience** in a corporate banking environment and look forward to (once more) taking on a commercial role.
- You **communicate **enthusiastically, clearly and with conviction in Dutch, French and English.
- You work constructively with **colleagues, clients and other parties**. This helps you to bring everyone onto the same wavelength and to quickly build a network.
- You’re **persistent**, which is vital as syndicated loans are often complex dossiers. The bigger the challenge, the greater the satisfaction
- You work with **precision **and care, but you’re also **creative **in the financing proposals you draft.
- You have no problems working **independently**. At the same time, you are a **team player **and enjoy working with others.
- Your familiarity with recent developments in the area of **sustainable finance solutions** will be a huge bonus.
