The research lab headed by prof. Sophia Maschalidi focuses on phagocytosis during skin injury and repair. The current LEO-funded project aims to explore the importance of boosting phagocytosis during primary skin injury repair and at subsequent challenges.
**YOUR TASKS**
- You will systematically address the diverse and dynamic transcriptome, interactome and epigenome of phagocytic and neighboring cells in the skin, at the native environment where the phagocytosis takes place.
- You will be involved in research activities in both wet and dry labs.
- You will collaborate with other internal and external groups.
- You will guide Master students in this project.
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- PhD in biochemistry/biotechnology, biomedical sciences, cell biology, bio-engineering, or related disciplines
- A strong expertise in in cell biology/immunology and biochemistry.
- Expertise in epigenetics and imaging is a plus.
- Keen interest in immunology.
- Experience in working with mouse models (FELASA equivalent level required).
- You have excellent English communication skills (both oral and written).
- You are a talented and enthusiastic researcher, who is seriously motivated and has a sense for high professional standards.
- You independently and accurately plan and conduct experiments.
- You can function well in a team as you will be integrated into the international collaborative research environment.
