At BASF's vegetable seeds business, it is our ambition to make healthy eating enjoyable and sustainable by offering vegetable solutions that are in line with consumer demands. We are looking for a Sales Professional to join us and further develop our ambition with focus on the Belgium market of open field crops.
**WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT**:
The main purpose of this function is to further develop market position and market share of BASF's vegetable seeds business crops and build up a long term relationship with national and/or international customers to realise profitability and partnership. You will be responsible managing and expanding a portfolio of key customers, i.e. growers, (multicrop) plantraisers and processors for our Open Field crops, with a focus on Leek, Carrots and Spinach.
- Manage large and complex accounts with regards to the assigned crops.
- Plan, review, adapt and execute the annual and/or more annual sales plan to match the plan with the production plan and stock.
- Introduce BASF's vegetable seeds business / Nunhems and our products to (potential) customers to inform and acquire new customers.
- Formulate and negotiate with customers (growers, plantraisers, processors) regarding annual and/or more annual contracts and concepts to realise the short-term sales targets and the long term partnership relation.
- Steer the Customer Team to assure all aspects for the correct development of the projects being carried out with the Key Customers being the most proactive link to always anticipate the critical path and avoid failure.
- Provide market, price, and product information to contribute to the formulation of the marketing and sales plan in the crop team.
- Contribute to the trial program to come up with proposals regarding the assortment and initiate the introduction of new varieties (use to gain new customers).
**WHAT YOU OFFER**:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
- Relevant sales experience preferably in the agro-economic industry.
- Technical knowledge about the assigned crops is also a big plus.
- Good understanding of the Dutch and English language.

**ABOUT US**:
Turnover, market share, amount of new customers, new introductions, business projects and days of sales outstanding are important factors that will determine your success in this job. You will work close together with Product Development, Marketing and your sales colleagues in the region and crop teams. Functionally you will report to the Country Sales Manager and depending on the portfolio of customers, some international travel is required. Looking at the crops you will be responsible for, travelling is limited to Belgium, the Netherlands and occasionally France.
