**Context**:
The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of 30 quantitative analysts. Its mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

**The Business Platform (BP) Short term Power as a Service (SPaaS) delivers services and value for internal and external clients on the Short Term Power markets, through strong business expertise and a competitive digital experience.**:
**Role**:
The role of the Power Portfolio Optimization expert is to combine in-depth business knowledge on power markets, asset optimization and strong analytical and coding skills in order to contribute to the Expertise Center mission, with focus on optimization models.

The daily responsibilities include:

- Designing, implementing and supporting front office quantitative models, in particular related to the economical and physical optimization of power assets and decentralized flexibilities
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders (Short-Term Power trading, IS, Engie Impact,)
- Seek out innovative solutions
- Technical support to end-users and understand their needs
- Leading projects

**Hard skills**:

- **Must have**:

- Deep understanding of energy business and power markets
- Operational research / mathematical / analytical skills
- Strong coding / IT skills (Python, familiar with Git)
- Experience with optimization modelling language like GAMS
- Project management skills
- Ability to explain and convey messages about complex issues
- **Good to have**:

- Experience with data science techniques is a plus
