_The Pfizer Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) in Brussels is a state-of-the-art research facility with sixty inpatient beds dedicated to early clinical trials (Phase 1 & 2a studies). There are only two CRUs worldwide, one in New Haven (USA) and one in Brussels (Belgium). The clinical trials, with the help of healthy volunteers and patients, are key in the development of new medicines which will help patients worldwide. The studies run in the PCRU are set up in collaboration with US and UK Study Teams, based on the most accurate protocols. The volunteer recruitment department of the PCRU is responsible for the recruitment of healthy volunteers and patients, responding to the study specific criteria. This department also ensures the visibility of the activities ran at the BRCRU and the accurate communication on those activities to tackle the taboo around clinical trials. Colleagues in our department are the main point of contact for our volunteers, being our key partners. We are a fast growing multicultural team introducing the lay public and registered volunteers to our studies and activities.- For this role, we are looking for an enthusiastic and engaged manager who is passionate and/or willing to learn about research and ready for a multi-disciplinary collaboration with our healthy volunteers/patients, local and global study teams, health care professionals.***:

- Ensures and is responsible for the operation excellence and quality of the Pfizer Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) Volunteer recruitment services.
- Responsible for the people management and oversight of Volunteers recruitment services.
- Leads by influencing strategic direction including leadership, business performance for the Volunteer recruitment service, including healthy and patient recruitment, call center, reception and volunteer recruitment support activities.
- Is responsible for long term recruitment planning and all exploratory and full development studies conducted in the PCRU.
- Ensures with the Clinical research communication specialist the visibility of the activities conducted at the CRU with a focus on communication excellence while achieving the intended study milestones.
- Contributes to the development and execution of long-term strategy of the Global PCRU organization.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Leads, coach and directly manage PCRU Recruitment services, including healthy and Patient Recruiters, Senior Recruitment Coordinator and any other functions which will be needed to conduct broad range of Pharma
- therapeutic and Bio-therapeutic Early Clinical studies.
- Prioritize and coordinate all efforts within the PCRU and collaborate between disciplines/divisions (Clinical Development, other Pfizer Clinical Research Units and divisions) to resolve issues and accomplish volunteer recruitment related organizational goals.
- Develop innovative recruitment partnerships to support our portfolio of studies.
- Leads and drives the recruitment team to successfully enroll the expected number of trial participants.
- Develops, maintains and measures the Volunteer recruitment department capabilities and capacity (staff, equipment, supplies).
- Anticipate recruitment needs, training, appraise and provide for career counseling / development of staff including continued competency.
- Ensures “Data Protection legislation” and quality volunteer data generation is respected.
- Holds team leaders accountable for management skills and development of talents. Support ongoing capture and analysis of metrics to demonstrate value and increased productivity.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of global and local SOPs.
- Act as a critical cross functional partner to our sister CRU counterparts to harmonize responsible roles & processes.
- Establishes projects that supports alignment and harmonization of PCRU’s strategies and best practices.
- Participate in leadership team meetings as per request.
- Delegate to expedite operational efficiency and facilitate development of supervisory staff.

**ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS**:

- Reports to Global Head of PCRU Volunteer Recruitment & Finance, Senior Director
- Networks and collaborates with other Pfizer CRU to ensure organizational consistency of standard operating procedures.
- Networks and collaborates with other Pfizer colleagues to identify appropriate partners for conduction of (patient)trials
- Act as unit representative towards other Pfizer and non-Pfizer departments and customers
- Collaborates across Development and Discovery departments and administrative/support departments (technical, financial, procurement, regulatory, project management, etc.).

**PROFILE REQUIREMENTS**:
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Management formal education and/or work specific training (e.g. supervisory skills development; interview and selection).
