**Data Science Lead BNL**

The Data Science Lead BNL contributes to improvement of commercial efficiency and support strategic and operational decisions leveraging data and advanced analytics. This Benelux position can either be based in Diegem or in Hoofddorp.

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**People Management**:

- Provides leadership to the team with aim of creating and sustaining a spirit that is based on a high-performance team culture.
- Coaches and develops individuals in team so that they have direction, skills, and tools to achieve their objectives and develop themselves. Seeks actively for feedback
- Evaluates performance and development by conducting periodical check-ins, development dialogue and end year reviews
- Communicates effectively about the strategy of the division, chapter strategy etc., their role in this and that motivates the team to action
- Creates an environment where new ideas and different opinions are valued

**Data Analytics**:

- Process analytical models and create or modify customer journeys while activating a brand plan and measurable insights as well as
- Provide measurable insights and recommendations into commercial strategies and tactics for key products in the market
- Be responsible for key aspects along the data modelling cycle from definition of business questions and hypotheses to data sourcing and preparation, model development, and insight generation
- Develop and optimize ML models in different contexts (Sales, Marketing, Patient data, Communication and Social data)
- Translate complex analytics into actionable recommendations and propose feasible solutions
- Support evaluation of global commercial experiments and pilots (digital, data mining, etc.), including KPIs

**Internal and external collaboration**:

- Close collaboration with other functions (e.g., commercial business insights, integrated multi-channel marketing) to advice, and support the different teams in various types of advanced quantitative analyses including but not limited to: Marketing Mix Analysis, Advanced Segmentation & Targeting, Personalized communication, etc.
- Work/Manage with onshore and offshore resources, as well as in-house and external consultant
- Demonstrate thought leadership and content expertise to business partners and major markets including development of key training programs

Your stakeholders include Chapter Sales, Chapter Marketing, Chapter Established Products, Analytics & CBI Teams as well as external vendors and consultants.

**WHO YOU ARE**
- University degree (Master preferred) in quantitative field (e.g., statistics, management science, operations research, engineering, finance, applied mathematics, mathematics, business administration)
- At least 8 years of progressive advanced analytics work experience with recent experience in pharmaceutical industry or health care consulting
- Leadership experience; leading teams with different experts
- Experience in multi-touch attribution, AI-driven content personalization, advanced segmentation & targeting, conversion modelling, recommendation engine for sales force and marketing systems, journey optimization, simulation, and/or decision analysis
- Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing platforms, deep learning models (CNN, RNN) and knowledge of at least two of the following languages: Python, R, C/C++, Scala, Julia, Mathematica
- Knowledge of the most common ML/DL frameworks (Scikit-Learn, Stan, Pandas, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Keras, Matplotlib)
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams to impact decision-making: willingness to “have an opinion” backed up by insight and analytics and the confidence to influence key stakeholders in meetings and one to one basis.
