Our client is an **insurance company** with several branches within Europe.
As the Financial Controller, your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the seamless functioning of the financial operations alongside other team members. Your role will involve diverse tasks within the technical domain.
**Your key tasks will include**:
- Assisting in the preparation of both local and group reporting;
- Collaborating with various departments to provide insights that support senior management decisions;
- Playing a crucial role in the quarterly and yearly closing processes, which will involve tasks such as managing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and conducting variance analyses;
- Contributing to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts;
- Providing support for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of our newly implemented General Ledger system, Oracle NetSuite;
- Engaging in the development and refinement of a process-driven approach, which will encompass drafting and optimizing procedures and enhancing the control environment;
- Ensuring full compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls;
- Compiling and organizing information necessary for the external audit process;
- Participating in invoice input and payment runs, thus contributing to efficient financial operations.
**To be a strong fit for this role, you should have**:
- A finance degree;
- At least 2 years of experience in an external audit or controlling function;
- Experience in insurance would be a strong advantage, although not mandatory;
- The ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks, even in a changing environment;
- Familiarity with the MS Office suite;
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel;
- Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite would be beneficial;
- A keen interest in reporting tools;
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- A meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy;
- A hands-on and proactive approach;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
- The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting;
- A requirement for English proficiency, while knowledge of other languages is an additional asset.
