- A Security Architect is expected to have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and stay up to date with the latest security standards, systems and authentication protocols, as well as best practice security products.
Functie
**Security Architect duties and responsibilities of the job**
- In addition to anticipating possible security threats and identifying areas of weakness in the architecture and processes, a Security Architect should be able to provide structured reports and draft clear texts and clear presentations for different stakeholders.
The Security Architect assignments will include:
- Reviewing current policies, standards and existing practices to recommend and implement enhancements using accepted control frameworks and standards
- Assessing the needs for additional guidance or changes to the existing policies/standards from use cases, interviews with stakeholders and/or analysis of incidents
- Make a gap analysis against the target control framework
- Conducting assessments and gap analyses
- Providing a communication and implementation plan for the control framework
- Manage change in the organisation to cultivate a culture of security awareness, and arrange continuing education of personnel to ensure security policies are adhered to at all times.
Functie-eisen
**Security Architect qualifications**
Knowledge of Information Security Control Frameworks, such as COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST,
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field is highly desirable.
- Additional security qualifications such as SABSA (Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certifications.
Qualities:
- Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability
- Experience in business process analysis and optimisation
- Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security
- Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions
- Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of stakeholders to explain and enforce security measures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen
- Both verbal and written excellence in Dutch, French and English
