Our members are active in a wide range of activities, in particular in care and support services, employment, education and training, early childhood intervention, arts and culture and other areas.

Then join EASPD in Brussels as a Junior Project & Policy Officer

This new role will have as main responsibility to support the coordination of the Helpdesk project, which main aim is to facilitate the access and the use of **EU funds (particularly the European Social Fund+ and the European Regional Development Fund) by social services**. The project focuses on three main areas: capacity-building, creating an enabling environment to access EU Funds and maximising the potential of EU Funds in social inclusion projects. The ultimate goal of the project is to improve the **social inclusion and quality of life **of those using social services (children, persons with disabilities, older persons, people in poverty or homelessness & people needing support to access the labour market) and to contribute to the implementation of EU social policy frameworks.

In addition to this, you will have the chance to support the implementation of other EU-funded projects as well as the overall work of the Policy team (writing of position papers, coordination of studies, participation in EU policy events, etc).

**Main Tasks will include**:

- Support to the day-to-day project management, by facilitating the coordination of the work of 16 partners representing the major EU networks of social services, as well as national networks of service providers from 5 countries
- Supporting regular contact with the European Commission, national and regional authorities and other important stakeholders (civil society organisations, etc)
- Becoming an expert on the interaction between EU Policies & Funds (especially European Social Fund +) and social service provision
- Work with a small team within EASPD and the partnership to deliver the project outputs (research, policy work, events organisation, communication work, general budget management and administration, etc)
- Travel and represent EASPD at consortium and other meetings.

**Other relevant tasks**:

- Support the implementation of other EU-funded projects
- Support the EASPD policy work, with a focus on the topic of disability and migration
- Coordination of the EASPD study on social innovation in the disability field
- Writing of policy briefings, position papers and articles
- Participation and reporting on EU policy events
- Support the overarching activities of the office as a whole (organisation of Conferences, workshops, webinars, etc).

The position will focus on supporting a second (more experienced) colleague and will be part of EASPD’s Policy Team, under the leadership of its Head of Policy.

**Job Requirements**

**Essential**:

- Degree in relevant disciplines (e.g.: law, EU affairs, international development, etc)
- At least 1-year proven experience in project implementation, in particular under EU programmes
- Oral and Written Fluency in English and at least one additional European language
- Ability to work independently and excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Capacity to work in team and engage with different types of stakeholders
- Strong organisation and time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks effectively and respect deadlines
- Good command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and videoconferencing tool (Zoom)

**Desired**:

- Basic knowledge of EU funds (especially European Social Fund+) and implementation at national/regional/local level
- Basic knowledge of social services sector (e.g. childcare, social support for persons with disabilities, elderly care, support assistance, work integration, etc)
- Basic knowledge of EU Social Policy (European Pillar of Social Rights and other “sectoral policies”)
- Basic knowledge of migration topics
- Basic knowledge of IT Skills (experience with Word Press would be a plus)

**Terms of the Contract**
- ** A 1 year (12 months) contract**:

- The selected person must have a valid permit to work in the EU and live in Belgium.
