De Data Architect is verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen en onderhouden van de algehele architectuur van de datasystemen en databases van een organisatie. Ze werken samen met belanghebbenden om bedrijfsvereisten te begrijpen, data-architectuurstrategieën te definiëren en ervoor te zorgen dat data-assets aansluiten bij organisatiedoelen. De Data Architect speelt een cruciale rol bij het ontwikkelen van schaalbare, efficiënte en veilige data-oplossingen ter ondersteuning van datagestuurde besluitvorming en bedrijfsoperaties.

**Verantwoordelijkheden**:
1- Data Architectuur Ontwerp: Ontwerpen en ontwikkelen van schaalbare, efficiënte en robuuste data-architectuuroplossingen om aan bedrijfsvereisten te voldoen en organisatiedoelstellingen te ondersteunen.

2- Data Modellering: Ontwikkelen van conceptuele, logische en fysieke datamodellen om data-entiteiten, relaties en attributen weer te geven in overeenstemming met bedrijfsbehoeften.

3- Database Ontwerp: Ontwerpen en implementeren van databaseschema's, tabellen, indexen en structuren om dataopslag, -opvraging en -prestaties te optimaliseren.

4- Data Integratie: Integreren van data uit verschillende bronnen en systemen in verenigde, coherente datamodellen en -architecturen.

5- Data Governance: Vaststellen van kaders, beleid en normen voor datagovernance om datakwaliteit, -integriteit, -privacy en -beveiliging te waarborgen.

6- Metadata Beheer: Beheren van metadata repositories en woordenboeken om data-assets, definities en herkomst te catalogiseren en te documenteren.

7- Data Beveiliging: Implementeren van beveiligingsmaatregelen en controles om gevoelige en vertrouwelijke data-assets te beschermen tegen ongeautoriseerde toegang, inbreuken en bedreigingen.

8- Data Migratie en Transformatie: Plannen en uitvoeren van data migratie
- en transformatie-initiatieven om data te verplaatsen en vorm te geven over verschillende platformen en omgevingen.

9- Prestatie Optimalisatie: Optimaliseren van dataopslag, -opvraging, -verwerking en -queryprestaties om efficiënte en tijdige toegang tot data te waarborgen.

10- Samenwerking: Samenwerken met multidisciplinaire teams, waaronder data-engineers, datawetenschappers, bedrijfsanalisten en IT-professionals, om de data-architectuur af te stemmen op bedrijfsbehoeften en technische vereisten.

**Vereiste Vaardigheden**:
1- Vaardigheid in beheersystemen voor databases (bijv. SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) en data-modelleringshulpmiddelen (bijv. ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner).

2- Sterk begrip van principes voor databaseontwerp, normalisatietechnieken, indexatiestrategieën en queryoptimalisatie.

3- Kennis van data-integratietechnieken, ETL/ELT-processen en concepten voor datawarehousing.

4- Vertrouwdheid met big data-technologieën en -platforms (bijv. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) voor het beheren en verwerken van grootschalige datasets.

5- Ervaring met cloudgebaseerde data-services en -oplossingen (bijv. AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure SQL Database).

6- Begrip van kaders voor datagovernance, regelgevende nalevingsvereisten (bijv. GDPR, HIPAA) en industriële best practices.

7- Uitstekende analytische en probleemoplossende vaardigheden om complexe uitdagingen en vereisten in data-architectuur aan te pakken.

8- Sterke communicatie
- en interpersoonlijke vaardigheden om samen te werken met belanghebbenden en technische concepten aan niet-technische publieken over te brengen.

9- Vermogen om zelfstandig en als onderdeel van een team te werken in een dynamische, snel veranderende omgeving.

10- Oog voor detail en een toewijding aan het leveren van hoogwaardige, betrouwbare en schaalbare data-architectuuroplossingen.

**Opleiding en Ervaring**:

- Bachelor
- of masterdiploma in informatica, informatiesystemen of een gerelateerd veld.
- Bewezen ervaring als data-architect, database-architect of een vergelijkbare rol bij het ontwerpen en implementeren van data-architectuuroplossingen.
- Certificering in data-architectuur, databasemanagement of gerelateerde gebieden is een pluspunt.

De Data Architect speelt een cruciale rol bij het vormgeven van het datalandschap en de infrastructuur van de organisatie ter ondersteuning van datagestuurde besluitvorming en bedrijfsinnovatie. Door schaalbare, efficiënte en veilige data-architecturen te ontwerpen, stellen ze organisaties in staat hun data-assets effectief te benutten en strategische doelstellingen te bereiken.
