**FINANCIAL CONTROLLER**
**WHO ARE WE ?**
**GEMS**, short for **Global Energy Management & Sales**, is originally formed by Global Energy Management and B2B Supply. Our purpose is to manage and deliver low carbon energy to our customers.
GEMS is one of ENGIE’s Business Entity, with about 3300 people, who speak over 20 languages and counts over 40 nationalities. We are present in our ENGIE offices and trading floors all around the world : US, Latam, Europe, APAC.
In line with the Group’s strategy, GEMS missions are to optimize the Group’s assets and create value, and to ensure a secure and sustainable energy future for B2B clients in line with a low carbon strategy.
**CONTEXT**
As part of the recent integration of the B2B supply activity (Europe and International), the team is strengthening the current team and is looking for a Financial Controller for the Business Platform Supply B2B Belgium.
The Finance team of B2B Belgium includes several functions: Business Control, Accounting Management, Credit Risk, Internal Control and Strateco
Given the team’s current staffing, we are looking for someone able to bring expertise in the Accounting Management activity field
**WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE**
- To manage tasks related to the monthly closing of SAP 10 times a year, such as
- The controlling of postings sent to SAP by accounting teams
- The validation of our accounts
- The monitoring and investigation of any discrepancies between economic P&L and accounting P&L
- The follow-up of accruals
- To preserve a great work dynamic with the accounting teams
- To follow and validate the economical P&L by close collaboration with Front Office, analyzing and reporting on the variation of the P&L, detecting deviations in the evolution of the results and initiating corrective actions to improve global performance
- To support the team building previsions on End of Year Results as well as previsions for coming years (Y+1 until Y+3), including contacts with external auditors
- To provide timely, accurate, validated and relevant information and business reporting
- To ensure that the reported results are compliant with accounting principles
- To integrate/analyze the different performance dimensions/indicators (e.g. S-P, Turnover recognition, CFFO ) by means of a good view and understanding of the business activities (deal types, new contracts, markets,)
- To ensure appropriate administrative procedures, processes and reporting are in place and respected
- To propose enhancement of process and automation of tools where relevant
- To take part to projects (set up reporting for external clients / change of tools / etc)
**YOUR PROFILE**
**Education & professional background**
- You have studied finance/management in a higher education institution (or equivalent experience)
- You have more than 5 years' professional experience in Finance and Controlling in a complex environment
- Professional experience in the Energy sector would be an asset
- Professional experience in audit or accounting would be an asset
**Operational &Technical competencies**
- You have a good knowledge of the consolidation tool
- You have a good knowledge of SAP
- You have a very strong knowledge of Belgian industrial accounting principles
- You are well-versed in office tools (in particular Excel and PowerPoint)
- You have a good capacity to automatize processes, reports and analyses
- You have strong capacity to challenge summarize complex information into meaningful key messages
