**What does this job entail?**:
A strict approach to risk management is essential for us to grow in a sustainable manner as a creditor. How should we respond to **new risks**? What is our risk tolerance? How do we remain in line with regulations? As our Risk Manager, you take on these important questions, providing advice and support to our business stakeholders.
You’re joining the** policy department of Group Credit Risk.** Together, we set the standards for credit risks within the KBC Group and make sure that our risk management is in line with current regulations.
Within this team, your focus is on **credit risks arising from climate change** in particular, and more broadly, on Environmental, Social and Governance Risks (ESG). A job with a clear footprint within KBC Group and several international contacts.
**What do we expect from you?**:
- You and your Credit colleagues, as well as Group Sustainability, Group Risk and Model & Models Risk, **develop KBC’s credit risk management policy** for ESG. Your primary focus is on climate change.
- You contribute to our **sustainability roadmap for credit risk;** you identify risks, measure them, analyse them, report on them and more. In doing so, you set the risk tolerance for KBC.
- You **analyse the expectations of supervisors** in relation to KBC in the area of ESG. You make impact simulations, define and document an approach for implementing change, and you defend it in front of decision makers.
- You work closely with experts from your team, but also other KBC entities (spread across six countries) and departments that work on a group level.
- You use strong arguments and convincing communication to ensure **decisions are supported** by the credit and credit-risk departments throughout the KBC Group.
**Your key strengths?**:
- You have a **master’s degree** in Economy, (Civil) Engineering, Technology or Mathematics. Do you have experience in credit risk management and/or insight into credit risk modelling? It will be a huge benefit.
- You love to perform analyses and discover **insights**. ‘Insights you can bank on’ is our motto.
- You communicate convincingly in **English**. Entering into conversation with the most diverse people, from colleague-experts to top management, is no problem for you.
- Your **organisational talent and power of conviction** help you to bring colleagues in line with your views. You have plenty of success in reaching results and implementing strategic changes.
