Accounts Receivable Specialist Benelux

**Position**
Reporting to the Accounting Manager Benelux, the A/R Specialist Benelux is part of the accounting team (7 people) and a) takes all necessary actions for the collection of accounts receivables and b) prepares all adequate reports for the department.
The position is based in the Brussels office.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
His/her main tasks include:
- Daily process of bank statement and allocate cash received to appropriate clients and invoices
- Contact clients directly to ensure unidentified receipts are worked on a daily basis and kept at an absolute minimum
- Initiate appropriate action on and close follow up of overdue items: send reminders to customers, contact customers over phone and mail in order to minimize bad debt exposure
- Set up direct debit accounts for customers and prepare weekly direct debit batches (“Incasso”/ “domiciliations”)
- Maintain Month End Reporting for AR, DSO and Treasury position in SyRUS for Financial Reporting
- Manage cash and monthly reconciliation of banks and bank related suspense accounts
- Build a close relationship with Customer Service, Sales - and Account Managers
- Discuss on a regular basis the customer situation with the Management
- Harmonize files and processes with other colleagues of the AR team
- Provide backup function within A/R team during absences
- Provide general support to the financial department

**Desired skills and experience for the role**
- **Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field**
- **At least 2 years of experience in a similar role**
- **Excellent knowledge of Dutch and French (written and spoken)**
- **Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)**
- **Excellent knowledge of Excel and experience with SAP**
- Being able to handle strict deadlines
- Well-organized, structured and accurate.
