Our successful Environmental Services team in the Benelux is currently hiring an Environmental Consultant Soil & Groundwater Remediation to be based in our Leuven office. Within this role you work in a dynamic group which undertakes a wide variety of projects for mainly international private sector clients based in Belgium and abroad. These projects involve (but are not limited to) contaminated soil investigation, remediation, risk assessment, remedial design and follow-up.
As an Environmental Consultant you have a challenging and diversified scope of responsibilities, ensuring the good completion of smaller to large size and complex soil and groundwater projects, as well as supporting other environmental businesses.
Key aspects of the role are;
+ People Management - by helping junior profiles on site, you help developing keen young talent. You also manage contractors and subcontractors to maintain an excellent working relationship with them.
+ Project Management - you make sure that all your projects are executed according to high-level standards in terms of Safety, Quality, Planning, Budgeting and Reporting.
+ Client Management - you support senior consultant and/or client account managers to effectively guide AECOM’s clients and translating their needs into an efficient and solution-oriented concept. It comes to no surprise that good client management increases client retention and promotes growth.
+ Technical & Regulatory Management - supporting your clients and colleagues with the different environmental legislations applicable in Belgium, especially in Brussels and Walloon regions. This requires having a good technical knowledge of the soil and groundwater remediation sector.
+ Transversal Collaboration - working closely with other environmental teams throughout the Benelux and Europe and stimulate collaboration between the different units.

Minimum Requirements
+ We are looking for a French speaking colleague with fluent English written and verbal language skills. Good Dutch skills is seen as a plus.
+ Between 3-6 years of experience in a comparable role within the environmental consultancy sector, with a strong portfolio of similar soil and groundwater phase I, phase II and some remediation projects.
+ Confidence and at ease with relationship building and stakeholder management.
+ You are a decision taker with a good sense of responsibility and ownership.
+ Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
+ Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
+ Good knowledge of Belgian (Brussels and Wallonia) Soil & Groundwater legislation (both past and present)
+ Able to work both independently and in teams.
+ You are an innovative thinker who enjoys self-development and taking initiative while working in a young and dynamic team.
+ Valid driver license for a car.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Willingness to travel occasionally within mainly Belgium and occasionally the Netherlands or abroad to meet the needs of specific projects.
