The Risk Manager is a key member of the Legal, Audit, Risk, and Compliance team, collaborating with colleagues in Belgium, the US, and China.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Further develop and implement the methodology to identify, analyze, evaluate, and report top risks. Guide and perform risk assessments, evaluate their potential impact, and tailor reports to the relevant audience.
- Implement risk mitigation actions for liability, property, and business interruption risks. Manage crisis response procedures, ensure the creation and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and build risk awareness among staff through support and training.
- Manage the insurance broker relationship and global business-related insurance program with underwriters, handle renewals and risk quantification exercises, and oversee claim handling and the issuance of certificates of insurance.
- Provide technical expertise to the colleagues from the Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance department on matters like commodity codes for products and components, de minimis calculations, dual use technology, audit findings, product warranty claims.
- Act as a backup for export control and denied parties’ screening in SAP GTS
**Required Competencies**:
- Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical or construction engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in a global senior position within an international company.
- Expert in risk management and business-related insurances.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written knowledge of any other European language is a plus
- Good understanding of quality, environmental, information security, and other management systems.
- Knowledge of MS office and other IT tools (SAP-GTS, S4Hanna, ServiceNow,)
- Solution-directed and E2E continuous improvement attitude.
- Team player with sound judgment, diplomacy and a high level of integrity.
- Skills to influence at senior directors and CEO level.
