_The Lab Technician-Microbiology will support the Microbiology R&D lab activities by performing susceptibility tests using unique antimicrobial compounds and routinely used quality control micro-organisms._
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Scheduling and preparation protocols for experimental work
- Preparation of microbial culture media and related solutions, plating, colony counting, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, mínimal inhibitory concentration testing,
- Maintain and update the biobank collection of microbial strains (human and plant pathogens)
- Excellent documentation and first level reporting of experimental methods, results, and conclusions
- Designing new experiments and troubleshooting
- Daily responsibilities of lab infrastructure and organization
- Support in ad hoc tasks
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION**:
- Hands-on experience in a microbiology BSL2 environment
- Experience with accurate working according to SOPs and under a quality system (GLP)
- Team player who is able to work independently to plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written in English
- Great attention to detail and traceability in practical work and reporting
- Good troubleshooting skills
- MS Office skills
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Professional bachelor’s degree Biomedische laboratoriumtechnologie: Farmaceutische en biologische laboratoriumtechnologie, or equivalent.
