We are looking for an **Mechanical field technician** to be based in **Gent (Belgium), Botlek (The Netherlands) **or **Hattingen (Germany).**
In this role you will **carry out field activities**, such as the **repair, modification and refurbishment of mechanical equipment**, mainly compressors, pumps, gearboxes, pressure systems, compressor valves, compandors and expanders, etc, at **various different European operational facilities.**
**As a mechanical field technician, you'll be responsible for**:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and periodic review of preventative/predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned shutdowns and improve overall plant on stream capability.
- Ensure all repair and overhaul work is carried out fully and effectively, within budget. You will carry out equipment’s modification requests to central design specifications, making sure that prior to executing the work, an MOC has previously been approved.
- Be available out of hours in the event of both mechanical breakdowns and pre-planned activities, that imply the need to work out of normal business hours. Be flexible to support in the event of both mechanical breakdowns and pre-planned activities at a location anywhere across Europe.
**To be successful, you will have**:
- **Trade/Technical degree** or apprenticeship in a related field;
- A **background **in performing **preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery**, pumps, reciprocating compressors, and mechanical equipment is essential for this position;
- Language: You have a **good level of english**, written and spoken;
- Knowledge of centrifugal and **reciprocating compressor maintenance** and troubleshooting;
- Machinery and rotating equipment knowledge;
- **Ability to work alone** with minimum supervision;
- Knowledge of pumps, gear drives, fans, vessels, and exchangers.
