The lab of Prof. Dr. Francis Impens, located at the VIB-UGent Center for Medical Biotechnology (CMB) in Ghent, Belgium, investigates host-bacteria interactions by mass spectrometry-based proteomics approaches. In the context of an EU-funded consortium, the group is looking for a postdoctoral scientist focusing on the MS-based identification of bacterial antigenic peptides presented on infected cells, a technology called immunopeptidomics. Newly identified epitopes and antigens will be encoded in novel bacterial mRNA vaccine formulations.

The group is very internationally oriented and has a strong publication and funding track record. The group offers an open, highly dynamic, and challenging but fun working environment, in which teamwork, initiative, and originality are stimulated and appreciated.

**Your profile**:

- You hold a Ph.D. in Sciences (e.g. Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry), Bio-engineering Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- You have a strong background in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Experience with (immuno)peptidomics approaches is a plus.
- You have a good understanding of computational analysis of proteomics spectral data.
- You are eager to work in biosafety level 2 and 3 laboratories.
- You are a team player looking forward to working in an international environment and network.
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
