We are seeking a highly motivated and outcome focused Logistics Lead (M/FMX) to oversee receiving and export activities at our pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Geel Belgium. The Logistics Lead will be responsible for coordinating and managing the efficient movement of raw materials, finished goods, and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a smooth supply chain. This role requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of logistics operations, and a deep understanding of pharmaceutical industry practices.

**Job Overview**

As the Logistics Lead, you will be responsible for managing the receiving and export activities in our chemical API manufacturing warehouse. You will lead a team of logistics personnel, ensuring that all inbound and outbound shipments are handled safely, efficiently, and with a focus on quality. You will also work closely with other departments, including manufacturing, quality assurance, planning and customer service, to ensure that all logistics activities are integrated into the overall business strategy.

This role reports to the Sr Operations Warehouse & Logistics lead.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all logistics activities, including receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all logistics activities are aligned with business needs.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly recorded in the system.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to optimize production schedules and ensure that all materials are available on time.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation and hazardous materials handling. He/she will act as SPOC for know consignor related activities.
- Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and industry best practices, ensuring adherence to applicable laws.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with quality management systems and regulatory standards (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Support internal and external audits related to logistics operations and provide necessary documentation and reports.

**Team Leadership and Development**
- Lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to optimize individual and team performance. Team consists of direct reports (= admin export team) and indirect reports (receiving, tank farm & operational team)
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify training needs, develop training programs, and provide necessary resources to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.

**Continuous Improvement**
- Foster a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, in alignment with Johnson & Johnson's values and credo.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement within the logistics function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate logistics performance and propose corrective actions as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Master degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in logistics operations within the pharmaceutical industry, including receiving and export activities.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs requirements, and pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g., GDP, GMP).
- Familiarity with logistics management systems, electronic tracking tools, and inventory management software.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in using relevant computer software (MS Office, ERP systems, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
