**Your** role**:
The Equipment Construction Lead will lead the follow up of the construction, the quality control and the factory acceptance testing of new container cranes at the manufacturers sites, primarily in China.

In this role, the lead will have a core function within the Engineering and Projects department of ATS, and within the project teams managing terminal expansions and equipment renewal projects**.**
- Your role in the projects starts with the preparation phase, in which you will get a thorough introduction to the project, including the tender documents and the specifications of the cranes which will be vital instruments throughout the project. At the same time, you will be introduced to the new operational procedures.
- As soon as the construction phase starts, you will take up an active role in the project, and be the primary contact of the manufacturer.
- You will lead a team of 3 to 4 ATS construction supervisors, who will be present at the manufacturers site in a rotating system. They are experienced crane technicians / specialists, covering different engineering disciplines: structural, mechanical and electrical / automation.
- Together with the Construction Supervisors, the Construction Lead will spend a signification part of his time on the Chinese construction site (estimation = 40%).
- You will make sure that the construction of the cranes is meticulously followed up, that daily inspections of the cranes and components under construction are made, that additional quality checks - on top of the manufacturers ITP plan - are carried out.
- You will make sure that deviations from specifications / construction planning, issues, defects or sub-standard procedures are promptly reported to the project management and to the manufacturer, and make sure that corrective actions are taken and followed up.
- You lead the team of Construction Supervisors, and manage that they report on a daily base and that they have all the necessary means to do their job.
- You follow up the punch items and issues after FAT, and you make sure that the transport of the cranes only takes place when all conditions are met.

Education: master in engineering

Experience: an engineer, experienced with container terminal equipment, with substantial experience in project management.

Languages: Knowledge of the English language is required, Chinese is an advantage.
