**Laboratories & Support Manager**

**What would be your role?**
As the Laboratories & Support Manager you make sure that everything is in place for the laboratory to perform its function as R&D Hub for Q8 in Europe and the parent company in Kuwait. This exciting challenge is composed of various responsibilities: operations, finance, health & safety, staff training & development, planning, waste & stock management and customer satisfaction.
Your team’s goal is to provide analytical and testing services as part of product development and quality control for external and internal customers in a timely and cost efficient manner. That means people are your responsibility in terms of recruitment, training and appraisal, efficient and fair work planning. You set objective standards so that they achieve the agreed service levels. In the near future, additional laboratories may have to be set-up.
You also ensure that the laboratories and all test equipment, installations and buildings are fit-for-purpose and comply with regulations, and you work within the permit requirements. This also means that you strictly monitor and control the financials and keep them in line with budget, including monthly reporting.
Through regular calibrations and audits you maintain compliance with management and systems procedures (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, RC 14001, OHSAS 18001 as well as the internal SSHEMS. Needless to say, you strive for continuous improvement by initiating internal and external customer surveys to confirm and maintain excellent performance of laboratory services.

**What do you need to fulfill this role successfully?**
- You have a University Degree in a Chemistry discipline (or equivalent)
- You have at least 10 years relevant business and professional experience in a petroleum environment or in a research environment.
- You have a good understanding of petroleum products, potentially with experience in refining or upstream operations
- You have a practical understanding of R&D processes and product development
- You have relevant knowledge of ISO, SHE and management systems
- Strong people management skills are needed to bring the best out in people
- You have excellent communicating skills
