**Mission**
The Commercial Forecasting Analyst is responsible for the forecast of the energy consumption of our 2 million customers. To achieve this, he/she manages the monthly forecasting process and ensures the qualitative steering of the energy purchases. The commercial forecasting analyst contributes to the transformation of the current forecasting process and methods towards a data based forecasting tool including intelligent algorytms and datamodels.
Complementary, he/she has a proactive steering role in the optimisation of the value creation of our commercial activities. For this he/she supports the development of the strategic "Retail" business plan in the medium term and on an annual basis (MTP), in accordance with the strategic objectives. He/she helps to evaluate our success in the realization of this strategic plan (this includes collecting, analyzing and interpreting performance data, evidence and insights from a variety of activities within the department).
**Key challenges and tasks**
- Manage the monthly, annual and mid-term forecasting models of the customer portfolio of residential and small professional clients
- Implement and monitor closely control mechanisms to ensure the quality of the forecasts delivered
- Conduct profound analysis on large datasets in order to improve forecasting models
- Continuous alignment with different involved departments: Sales, Marketing, Portfolio Optimization; Pricing, Risk and Controlling
- Pro-actively identify optimizations in commercial activities & make recommendations for improvement.
- Take ownership in projects which improve or remodel the forecasting process together with an interdepartmental team (Risk, Audit, Optimization, IT)
- Responsible for the development of (parts of) the strategic Retail Business Plan in the medium term and on an annual basis (MTP), in accordance with the strategic objectives and in alignment with other teams and stakeholders
- Follow up the implementation of the Strategic Retail Plan closely: this includes the collection, analysis and interpretation of performance data, evidence and insights from various business functions - including operations, finance,... - to demonstrate that the business is proceeding according to plan and to provide qualitative feedback to the Risk Control and Portfolio Optimization teams.
- Understand business guidelines and needs, develop solutions and evaluations of the potential consequences for the company. Carefully follow up on the newest customers, competition and market trends, and compare the performance of Luminus to competitors.
- Work with cross-functional teams spread over the entire Pricing, Data & Digtial Transformation team and all Retail activities.
- Contribute to strategic and ad hoc analyzes & projects
- Master's degree (e.g., Applied Economic Sciences, Marketing, Finance,...).
- Relevant experience in analytical or specialist function
- Speaking Dutch or French and English fluently is a requirement.
- Having references in both business and finance is a plus.
- Knowledge of or experience in data science (Python, AWS) is a plus
- Knowledge of BI systems (Qlik, SAS, SAP BW,...) is a plus.
- You can work in a rapidly evolving environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in project management, risk control or audit are a plus
- Show a lot of attention to detail and the desire to deliver accurate, detailed and quality work.
