Base Design is an international network of studios that creates brands with cultural impact. Located in Brussels, New York, Melbourne and Geneva, our teams bridge strategy, storytelling, design and tech to bring powerful brands with unique personalities to life — from a radical new music festival to a heritage skincare company.
We are currently looking for a Creative Copywriter intern to join our Strategy team in Brussels.
You will be writing and developing impactful narratives and key messages for local and international brands — with the objective to help them express their DNA and story in a voice that is theirs only. You’ll be working with the strategy team and collaborate closely with designers and developers.
Day-to-day tasks
- Develop strategy pillars (brand fundamentals, mission, personality etc.)
- Translate strategy pillars into compelling brand narratives and key messages
- Write out tone of voice & storytelling guidelines
- Write content for visual identity mock-ups (for social media, OOH etc.)
- Brainstorm and produce content for campaigns (big idea, copy and microcopy)
- Proofread and edit presentations
- Conduct desk research on specific industries and trends
- And anything else on which we both think your brain and pen might be of value
We’d like to meet someone that
- Can join us for a period ranging between 3 and 6 months
- Has excellent English language skills for both written and verbal communication. French or Dutch is a plus
- Has a knack for conveying ideas and concepts in the right tone of voice - keeping our clients, their context and their audience in mind
- Shares our love for powerful ideas and words, and believes simplicity is of the essence
- Is curious about the world today - think popular culture, design at large, emerging technologies and trends, and all that’s to come
- Can weather a little planning change or two
- Stays up-to-date on social media trends and formats, and finds creative ways to leverage them to engage audiences.
We’re all at the studio on Mondays and Wednesdays, and will leave you to choose from where you’d like to write the rest of the week. We won’t micromanage you but We will expect you to attend Monday morning challenges and our bi-weekly team lunch & inclusions. You’ll also receive cake at every birthday, and be invited to the occasional dinner or party.
