BDO is a world leading professional services firm, providing advisory services, audit, accounting, tax and legal advice. The core activity of our Financial Advisory & Modelling team is to advise on Debt Funding and Financial Modelling. We combine property expertise across sectors and asset classes with financial and business advisory expertise to deliver integrated solutions. Our clients includes public organizations, construction companies, investors, developers, corporates and private equity funds.
The last couple of years, we have seen a strong growth in Infrastructure and Debt Advisory with projects relating to mobility, rail, road, telco, energy/renewables, hydrogen, etc. With an increasing pipeline of exciting new projects, we want to hire a Financial Consultant who will be growing and developing his skills in a highly reputed team.
What will you be doing?:
As Financial Consultant within our Energy & Infrastructure team, you will be working on exciting projects from sustainable energy to large infrastructure projects.
More specifically, you will regularly interact with private and public clients, guiding them on the financial impact of their projects, and proposing ways to improve the project bankability and / or profitability. As you are working on a financial model, you will have to interact with specialists to better apprehend tax implications and technical aspects of the project. In your role, you will assist the other team members in the discussion on financial structuring (e.g. Subordinated Debt, Equity Bridge Facility, Mezzanine, Senior Facilities), assessing the impact of the funding structure on the feasibility of the project.
As you build up your experience, you will have the opportunity to quickly build a network with construction players, domestic and international institutional investors, regional / federal and supra-national authorities and other legal / tax advisors.
You will also gain first hand knowledge on projects that will shape our environment in the future years and help our clients dealing with their challenges and working on new business ideas.
What do you bring to the table?:
- You hold a university degree with a focus on finance, engineering or business economics
- Preferably, you have a first professional experience in consulting or in a bank and understand the different debt-related products / project finance or modelling
- You like to deal with numbers, and go in details across financial models built in Excel
- You have strong analytical skills and are able to incorporate information into a financial model
- You are passionate and eager to learn
- You are pro-active, take on new initiatives and a team-player
- You are fluent either in French or Dutch and have strong written and oral command of English
