**OVER DE UGENT**

**JOUW OPDRACHT**
- Je besteedt minimum 80% van je opdracht aan wetenschappelijk onderzoek
- Je doet onderzoek naar het bodemmicrobioom. Je kijkt hoe de microbiologie in de bodem verandert bij de cultivatie van soja in Vlaanderen en of rhizogene bacteriën kunnen overleven in de bodem.
- Je zet in op nieuwe technologieën (single cell dispensing, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, nanopore sequencing) voor zowel de cultivatie als sequeneren van bodem bacteriën.
- In samenwerking met onderzoekers van het ILVO (Instituut van Landbouw, Visserij en Voedingsonderzoek) en het VIB (Vlaams Instituut van de biotechnologie) voer je onderzoek uit naar de teelt van soja in Vlaanderen. Hierbij werk je samen in een hecht team van onderzoekers.
- Je staat mee in voor de begeleiding van doctoraatsstudenten werkende binnen de bodemmicrobiologie en bodem-plant correlatie.
**JOUW PROFIEL**
- Je hebt een diploma van doctor op proefschrift behaald (maximaal 8 jaar geleden, de termijn van 8 jaar wordt bepaald op basis van de datum vermeld op het hierboven gevraagde diploma en de startdatum van de arbeidsovereenkomst) bij voorkeur in biochemie en/of biotechnologie of bio-ingenieurswetenschappen
- Je bent een expert in zake bodemgezondheid en/of bodemmicrobiologie
- Je hebt ervaring met next-generation sequencing enerzijds opgebouwd tijdens je studie, voorbije loopbaan en/of doctoraat
- Je hebt bij voorkeur ervaring met modellering of wilt je hierin specialiseren gedurende de eerste twee jaar van het project
- Je hebt ervaring met bio-informatica en kan werken met R en een linux/unix omgeving, meer specifiek voor de verwerking van microbiële gemeenschapsdata (metagenomics, metatranscriptomics)
- Je bent communicatief sterk (bv. Door ervaring citizen science projecten, uitvoeren van een leidende rol in een project,)
