**Job purpose**

As a member of our Legal & Regulatory Tribe the **Regulatory Affairs Expert **provides regulatory advice, representation, and support in relation to broad range of regulatory topics, focused on the services and products Telenet, as well as companies Telenet has invested in, provides to customers or procures from other parties.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Define the Regulatory Affairs policy that is necessary for the implementation of the strategy of Telenet.
- Representing Telenet in regulatory files towards internal and external stakeholders (regulators, authorities, sector organizations).
- Monitoring relevant regulation and market evolutions.
- Drafting position paper on relevant regulatory matters.
- Presenting and defending positions towards internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in close cooperation with the business.
- Acting as a legal point of contact for these matters internally and externally towards law firms
- Advising on the implementation of new legislation.
- Preventing Telenet to incur regulatory fines.
- Contributing to the wider goals and mission of the Tribe and Telenet.

Of course, you will not do this alone. You will be part of an experienced team of legal professionals, guided by a dedicated Team Manager, who will help and support you. It is therefore important that you have a "team player" mindset and interact easily with colleagues and stakeholders with different types of expertise, coming from various backgrounds.

**Knowledge & Experience**

Education: Master in law

Knowledge & Experience:

- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, of which (preferably) a few years responsible for regulation at a lobbying firm or as in-house regulatory expert.
- Keen interest in Telenet, as a company and the technology and media sector.
- Good understanding of the political and regulatory environments at European Union and Belgian level.
- Familiar with telecoms and media regulation, both at European, national and regional level. Knowledge of other regulated sectors is of added value.
- Knowledge of IP and copyright law is of added value.

Skills & Abilities:

- Fluent in Dutch and English. Good understanding of French.
- Both a team player (coordinate with others, share knowledge,) and able to work independently.
- Good drafting skills and a strong presenter.
- Diplomatic and effective in pursuing results.
- Able to grasp and analyze a wide variety of (sometimes complex) questions and large quantities of information.
- Combines good technical legal and regulatory knowledge with a keen commercial focus.
- Good at translating the regulatory context in hands-on and pragmatic advice that is also easy to understand for people without legal background.
- Not afraid of thinking beyond the legal framework; able to consider the external environment and anticipate important challenges/future events that may have consequences for Telenet.
- Hands-on and resilient; able to navigate in a large and agile organization and deal with continuous change.
