Context

As part of the development of our residential and commercial real estate financing platform in Belgium, we are looking to hire a Real Estate Lending Officer with a solid knowledge of the commercial real estate market.

Your Position

The Lending Officer will be in charge of origination and structuring of commercial real estate financing (offices, retail space and hotels) in Belgium and abroad, working in close collaboration with the Degroof Petercam (DP)’s Private Banking network. He/she will participate in the development and promotion of the commercial real estate credit offer towards our private bankers, customers and partners in Belgium and internationally.

Your main responsibilities will, amongst others, be:

- Analyzing credit files and drafting credit approval requests to present and support them to the relevant approval committees;
- Drafting term sheets and negotiating terms with customers;
- Coordinating with the DP Group's international teams, in case the real estate assets are located outside Belgium;
- Mandating approved experts to conduct valuations and visits of the real estate assets in Belgium ;
- Monitoring covenants, in liaison with the middle-office teams;
- Pro-active review of customer portfolios to identify growth opportunities.

Your Profile
- Master's degree with a specialization in Finance and/or preferably Real Estate;
- Perfect bi-lingual Dutch-French, English B2 level minimum;
- 5 to 7 years' experience in commercial real estate or commercial real estate financing in Belgium, and in financial modeling;
- Good knowledge of market conditions and the main players in the commercial real estate sector (knowledge of residential real estate is an asset);
- Ability to professionally challenge appraisal values communicated by real estate agents or customers;
- Personal skills: autonomous and proactive, rigorous, analytical/critical thinking, solid negotiation skills, team player, customer-centric.
