We are currently looking for a Junior Project Manager for strengthening our Brussels office, covering the implementation of ongoing EU-funded projects, and assessing new opportunities.

**Background**:
ELPA emerged from a desire amongst European liver patient groups to share their experiences on the often very different approaches adopted in different countries. Today, after 16 years, ELPA proudly represents 31 members from 25 different countries in Europe and beyond.

ELPA's vision is that all liver patients are diagnosed in time, are treated with respect, and have equal access to the best standard of medical care - regardless of origin, lifestyle, and type of liver disease.

ELPA's efforts are focused on 3 main pillars: MEMBER EMPOWERMENT, POLICY AND ADVOCACY and PARTICIPATION IN SCIENTIFIC PROJECTS.

**Main responsibilities include**:

- Coordination, preparation and release of the project deliverables and track progress towards milestones in line with the project´s work plan ensuring the timely accomplishment of work outputs and according to the project quality management process.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Determine and define project scope and objectives
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Identifying business opportunities published by the European Union.
- Preparation of letters of interest, conceptional and methodological coordination of technical offers in line with tender specifications.
- Assist in the organization of online events and onsite events.
- Support the organization in the registration of members to events.
- Support the organization in general administration.
- Preparation of periodic and final reports. In cooperation with the Head of the EU affairs.
- Ensure organised filing and archiving of documents and information.Administration of mailing lists linked to projects.
- Preparation of the project financial reporting. In cooperation with the Head of the EU affairs.
- Carry out other communications tasks that may arise or are needed to properly execute the tasks above.
- Language: Fluent written and spoken English mandatory, French desirable.
- Degree in a relevant field, such as Political Sciences, Sociology, Economics, MBA, Development Studies, Social Psychology, Regional Studies or similar.
- At least 1-3 years of professional work experience in a related field and in a comparable position/with a similar scope of work.
- Experience with EU technical assistance projects, either in business development/tender preparation or in EU project management.
- Excellent communication, time management, diplomacy, problem-solving and organizational awareness skills.
- Able to work autonomously under high time pressure and workload; problem-solving minded.
- A good knowledge of the EU institutions.
- Positive attitude and flexibility to work in a multicultural international environment.
- A self-starter with attention to detail, analytical and multitasking skills.
- A team player.

**Details**:
Place: The position requires a work permit for Belgium, as the location of the work will be Brussels.

Duration: Full-time, 38h/week.

Type of contract: Fixed-term contract under Belgian law.

Duration: probation period: 3 months.

Others: meal vouchers and public transport in Brussels fully covered.
