With digitalization being at the core of our business, protection of personal data is key for Luminus.

To enable us to realize our ambitions, Luminus group is looking for a knowledgeable, proactive and pragmatic Data Protection Officer (DPO).

**Mission**

As DPO, you will be responsible for (1) developing and implementing data protection policies, (2) executing the compliance program and (3) conducting control and audit activities.

1. Policies:

- Develop and regularly update data protection policies, procedures and guidelines, thereby continuously shaping the Luminus privacy governance program in conjunction with any legal, regulatory and group requirements
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including the Legal, IT, Retail and HR departments as well as with the CISO and the Information Security Forum to ensure policies and procedures are aligned with business objectives and meet legal requirements.
- Monitor changes in data protection regulations and update policies accordingly.
- Raise awareness, develop training materials and provide training to employees on privacy related obligations

2. Execution of the Compliance Program:

- Develop and manage Luminus’ privacy compliance program in close collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Ensure that the Record of Processing Activities is reviewed and updated on a regular basis by the relevant controller
- Assess data processing activities, identify potential risks, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
- Advise and formulate recommendations on data protection impact assessments (DPIA) performed by the relevant controller
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data protection controls and practices across the organization.
- Advise business and IT teams on the implementation of technical and organizational measures to protect personal data.

3. Control/Audit:

- Conduct periodic internal audits to assess compliance with data protection laws and regulations, in cooperation with internal audit department.
- Review and evaluate data protection practices, policies and procedures to identify potential gaps or areas for improvement.
- Provide internal stakeholders with information and advice and recommendations on GDPR compliance and work together with stakeholders to implement changes.
- Liaise with external auditors and supervisory authorities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of data processing activities, data breaches and actions taken to address non-compliance

**Skills**
- Strong project management skills.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Knowledge & experience**
- University education or equivalent, additional certifications or qualifications in data protection or privacy (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPIM) are a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in data protection compliance
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the applicable data protection laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Belgian data protection framework as well as the relevant EU guidelines (EDPB, ENISA,)
- Good knowledge in IT systems, processes and data management practices.
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch or French.
