You will be part of the research group CMST, an imec associated research lab at Ghent university.

**YOUR TASKS**
- Your research will focus on the design, realisation and evaluation of wearable electronic patches within the framework of various health related research projects.
- You will conduct the research based on the use of microsystem technologies, flexible printed electronics, stretchable electronics, biocompatible embedding materials and methods.
- Key responsibility will be conducting experiments including designing, developing, prototyping, evaluating and optimizing these electronic patches.
- You will perform practical work in a clean room environment and electronics labs.
- You will work in a team with other researchers and process engineers.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in wearable, stretchable, and printed electronics, identifying opportunities for innovative research topics.
- Take the lead in managing research projects, including those funded by Flemish, European, and bilateral initiatives.
- Propose and develop new research ideas to advance the field further.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- You hold a thesis-based doctorate in Engineering Science, Biomedical engineering, Electronic engineering, Physics, Chemical engineering.
- You have experience with research in micro-electronics fabrication processes using flexible printed circuit board technologies / printed electronics / polymer embedding including design, fabrication, reliability testing, failure analysis.
- You have experience in the design of electronic circuits.
- You have experience with working on research projects with industry.
- You have experience in disseminating research results, by publishing papers in peer reviewed journals and presenting conference papers at international conferences.
- You can read, write and speak fluently in English.
- You are willing to relocate to Belgium.

**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU**
- We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 24 months, starting earliest in March 2025.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
