Your Profile:
- Master student (preferably: Chemical / Electrochemical / Materials Science or Engineering)
- Good knowledge in electrochemistry and material science

Your team and your responsibilities:
The Materials Engineering department in Toyota Motor Europe is responsible for the research and development of new materials and analytical techniques for emerging technologies. Particularly we examine topics which work towards reducing the environmental impact of our vehicles. One of our key topics is the development of green (solar) hydrogen. We are currently developing several materials as photocatalysts, which use solar energy to split water into oxygen and hydrogen, which could eventually be used for our fuel cell vehicles.
Our team aims at searching for and integrating European unique and advanced technology into final products to strengthen Toyota’s future products.
We are now offering a position to develop photocatalyst technologies for solar-hydrogen production.
The activity may include:
- Synthesis and characterisation of photocatalysts
- Synthesis and deposition of hydrogen and oxygen evolution catalysts - focussing on precious metal-free catalysts
- Photocatalytic tests under simulated solar light
- Literature review of the latest developments
**We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
