**Business Context**

To accelerate on the Operational Excellence pillar of the Etex Manufacturing strategy, new technology based "Centres of Excellence" will be created.

The purpose of these Centres of Excellence is first to support the "Lighthouse plants" to achieve accelerated performance improvements and to manage specific transversal projects to support other factories. This new approach will bring additional resources to deliver sustained improvements in the plants and share with the wider manufacturing organisation for further implementation. Next to this, the Centres of Excellence will help implementing the necessary tools to ensure Industry 4.0 transformation in the lighthouse plants.

**Mission**

**Key roles and responsibilities**

Together with the production team deliver successful data science products aligned with the set priorities. For this training, change management and supporting end-users (e.g. factory workers, maintenance teams) will be key.

Define data requirements and lead any actions necessary to ensure appropriate data is captured.

Ensure achieved improvements are sustained and shared.
- Coach and train the plant teammates to use data science products.
- Together with local plant management, create the circumstances that achieved improvements are sustained through training and coaching.
- Ensure data and results are shared with relevant stakeholders and the wider manufacturing network.
- Foster the exchange and implementation of good practices through the Etex Ideas platform.

**Job requirements and qualifications**

Minimum education: Master's in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics or related engineering field.

Minimum experience: 2 to 5 years' experience working on data science projects for industrial/manufacturing.

Language skills: English and other European languages, French preferred.

**Functional Knowledge**
- Strong interest in control theory, signal processing, dynamics of complex systems, artificial intelligence and algorithm development.
- Fluent in Python, R or any similar language.
- Good knowledge on Spark and cloud ecosystems (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- Able to work with best practices of Git, DevOps & CI/CD.

- Work in agile, multidisciplinary teams in an industrial/manufacturing context.

**Reporting line, location & travel
**The position reports to the Center of Excellence Leader - Fibrecement

Position can be performed from any European based Etex location - however frequent travel to plants in scope is required.
