**Ardena Gent **guides a worldwide portfolio of customers through the processes of formulation and analytical development and the manufacturing and labeling of early-phase clinical materials according to GMP appropriate standards.
**YOUR KEY ROLE**:
The main role of the Associate Scientist - Production is to conduct small-scale GMP production (cleanroom) operations under the guidance of the Group Leader Formulation and Production, part of the Formulation and Production group. Within this group, all associate scientists have a flexible role meaning that although you will spend around 90% of the time executing pre-defined tasks in the GMP production environment, you could also work in the Formulation (R&D) department or assist in secondary packaging activities.
Typical GMP productions are e.g. manufacturing of capsules manually or via an automated device, manufacture tablets, spray drying, fluid bed or pan coating, making solutions and suspensions, etc. Moreover, when e.g. capsules or tablets have been produced, they need to be packaged in a suitable container (e.g. jar) which can be done manually or automated depending on the project.
In order to perform these GMP activities in line with the authority guidelines, you follow a detailed Batch Record Documentation (BRD) to execute this protocol step by step. Furthermore, you will always work in team of at least 2 associate scientists. In this role, following the BRD exactly as described is key and routine work (doing the same task for several days to a couple of weeks) is an important aspect of the job.
The ideal Associate Scientist - Production for this role has a Bachelor Degree in a pharmaceutical field (e.g. FBT), having experience is not required but considered a plus.
**YOUR PROFILE LOOKS LIKE/ RESEMBLES**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in pharmaceutical laboratory techniques or secondary school pharmaceutical assistant
- Experience is a plus, not a necessity
- Stress resistant and a “can-do” mentality
- An attention to detail while working accurate & precise
- Ability to both work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records and follow instructions
- Ability to follow procedures reliably and consistently and ability to recognize and escalate relevant issues as appropriate
- Good command of the English language
