For a rapidly growing & dynamic biotech company, we are looking for a **General Ledger Accountant** to join the EMEA finance team of the Belgium-based Headquarters in **Ghent**.

For a rapidly growing & dynamic biotech company, we are looking for a **General Ledger Accountant** to join the EMEA finance team of the Belgium-based Headquarters in **Ghent**.

Your main tasks will be:

- Execute accounting processes and operations, follow up on business projects and revenue recognition following local and corporate policies;
- Be the E2E responsible for your assigned legal entities (balance sheet, revenue, opex, payroll, tax...);
- Prepare timely & accurately the monthly, quarterly, half-year and year-end accounting closing process and reports;
- Work in close relationship with Group Internal Control and External/Corporate Auditors to review, update and document business processes and accounting and financial policies;
- Coordinate and comply with local government reporting requirements and indirect tax filings;
- Manage local incoming payment processing and collections;
- Being a SPOC/critical contact for the EMEA (finance) team with a continuous focus on E2E process improvements;
- Coordinate the preparation of the statutory financial statements for all EMEA legal entities following the relevant accounting principles;
- Collaborate with FP&A EMEA to support budget vs actual analysis and other overall department goals and objectives;
- Execute ad hoc tasks and analysis.

**Profile**:

- Advanced degree in Accounting/Economics;
- A minimum of three years of working experience in accounting;
- Experience within the biotech or pharma industry is a plus;
- Analytical and critical mind, structured and efficient;
- Experience in working with an ERP system, experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus;
- Knowledge of IFRS principles is a nice-to-have;
- You are a connector, building relationships and partnering across the organization to achieve the company goals;
- Fluent in English,
- You excel in a fast-paced, results-driven, highly accountable environment;
- You are pragmatic yet creative and innovative while "rolling up your sleeves" to get it done.
